A Denton Criminal & DWI Firm

Denton Texas Criminal Defense Attorney
Fewer communities in the United States have seen more growth in recent years than the suburbs of North Texas, and Denton County is no exception. Whether a person has recently relocated from another part of the country or is a longtime local of the area, many people can find themselves feeling frightened and overwhelmed if they face criminal charges in Texas.
However, an arrest for criminal charges or driving while intoxicated, also known as driving under the influence or DUI does not automatically result in a conviction. With the help of skilled and proven legal representation, initial criminal charges can be significantly reduced or possibly even completely dismissed.
If you have been arrested in Denton County, you should contact an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Law Offices of Richard C. McConathy represents clients in and around Lewisville, including such communities as Denton, Little Elm, Highland Village, Argyle, Flower Mound, and The Colony.
Richard C. McConathy has decades of legal experience in matters of criminal law. Our firm can review your case and help you understand all of your legal options when you call (940) 222-8004 or contact us online today to schedule a free, confidential consultation.

DENTON TEXAS DWI and DUI DEFENSE LAWYERS
The experience of being arrested for DWI is not only embarrassing but can result in significant penalties that can have enormous negative consequences for a person’s professional and personal life. Whether you are facing your first DWI charge or you were arrested after having previous drunk driving convictions, it is important to have a knowledgeable criminal defense attorney investigate the circumstances surrounding your arrest and determine any possible flaws in chemical testing or other police procedures.
Our firm has a thorough understanding of the field sobriety tests administered by law enforcement as well as the Intoxilyzer 5000 and other chemical tests used to determine the blood alcohol content (BAC) of alleged offenders. Any errors made during these tests can result in charges being dropped and cases being dismissed.
It is in your best interest to seek the help of capable legal counsel when you have been accused of DWI because of the severity of the possible consequences of a conviction. A skilled lawyer can work to help you avoid such punishments as:
- Thousands of dollars in fines
- Sentence of several years in jail or prison
- Lengthy driver’s license suspension
- Thousands of dollars in Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Driver Responsibility Surcharges that need to be paid every year for three years
- Several hundreds of hours of community service
- Mandatory DWI classes
- Mandatory participation in alcohol or drug education programs
- Mandatory evaluation and possible counseling
- Mandatory installation of deep-lung device (DLD) or ignition interlock device (IID)
- Various other court and administrative costs
Richard saved my life from the path of destruction it was on. My twenties was full of many hazy memories and mistakes. I should be in prison for my selfishness, but because of one man and my sweet Gama I doing life right. So many other lawyers would have quit on me, but Richard kept going. He kept me out of prison and got me into treatment and kept it where I could seal my record. I'm now married to the love of my life with two of the most precious little girls a man could wish for. I just got my master plumber standing and own my own business. This wouldn't be happening If one man, Richard McConathy, didn't save me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Criminal Case Dissmised
I have never been in trouble in my life except traffic tickets. Then I made a really stupid mistake and had my kid in the car. It didn't look good. I was looking at becoming a felon and looking like a really bad mom. I thankfully found Richard McConathy. It took close to a year but he was able to convince the DA to drop my case down and now I'm eligible to have it sealed. I now have my future back. Great office staff and very hands on with the clients needs. Once again a big thanks to the whole office.
